Word of Mouth is a moderately technical xc-style trail, descending a total elevation of roughly 270m over its 3.1km length. This trail is not for everyone, as there are plenty of technical uphill sections that will either make your heart pound or have you walking the bike to the top (or possibly both). A gravel road splits the trail into an upper and lower section. Follow the signs on the gravel road to continue. The upper section is rated black-diamond and the lower section is rated moderate difficulty. These sections gradually blend futher along the trail with increasingly less speedy descents and more difficult uphills. There are a variety of great views on the lower section that are worthwhile to stop, catch a breather, and enjoy.
Word of Mouth can be accessed from Northside Connector near the bottom of Fred. Alternatively, the upper section of Word of Mouth can be bypassed from Northside Connector by following Lower Powersmart and Plum Smugglers. Plum Smugglers flows directly into Word of Mouth shortly before the long boardwalk.
