Hoods in the Woods is a moderately difficult trail with a mix of rooty flat and uphill sections, inviting rock rolls, as well as winding high-speed downhills over both smooth terrain and loose rocks. The first few minutes of the ride involve some short techy climbs, but the downhills will certainly keep you coming back for more rides. The downhills are very playful and offer many line choices where you can either seek the easiest line down or find opportunities for small jumps or short wheelies over technical terrain. There are a few optional boardwalk jumps that aren’t big enough to disrupt your flow.
To access Hoods in the Woods, take either Power Hoods or the first half of Powerhouse Plunge, then follow the gravel road heading uphill towards Bonsai and Somewhere Over There. The entrance to Hoods in the Woods is your right, a few minutes in the forest from the top of the gravel road. From the bottom of Hoods in the Woods, turn left on the gravel road to head towards the bottom of Farside in Valleycliffe. Turn right and follow the gravel road ahead on your left for Blaine’s Connector through the clear-cut en route to Carpenter Son’s Bridge and Garibaldi Park Rd.
