Dead End Loop is a cruisy xc-style trail tucked away in the forest. It can be ridden in either direction but is best followed in the counter-clockwise direction, starting near the end of Made in the Shade. The Cheekeye River flows along a portion of the trail where you can hear the sounds of the roaring water as you meander your way down the gentle slope. When you reach the junction with Mini-Tracks From Hell, keep right to continue, although this will lead you out of the forest into a clear-cut to complete the full loop. Turning left at the junction onto Mini-Tracks will lead you directly back to the start, although this trail has become more of an access road than a mountain biking trail. The Test of Metal race course follows Dead End Loop in the clockwise direction, and turns onto Mini-Tracks.
Dead End Loop can be accessed from Made in the Shade or the Bob McIntosh Memorial Trail. Alternatively, you can ride down New Rock ‘n Roll. After a loop, ride up New Rock ‘n Roll to access The Corners or Man Boobs, or follow the Bob McIntosh Memorial Trail and the Four Lakes Trail to access Tracks From Hell.
