Half Nelson is a flowy pump track similar to Whistler’s A-Line. It is a popular trail among riders of all skill levels. Beginner riders can roll the optional jumps and take it easy along the wide sweeping berms, while advanced riders can find big air on the jumps and maintain high-speed by whipping around the berms. In the spring of 2015, a new entrance was built above the previous trailhead. This provides an addition to the total descent and trail length, with approximately 255m of total descent over a distance of 2.4km.
The previous trailhead remains accessible for those who had enough climbing up the gravel road. The upper entrance is a few more minute’s climb beyond here, shortly before the trailhead for Angry Midget. The upper entrance can also be reached from the top of Legacy Climb Trail, and passing Angry Midget. This is great for those wanting to ride Climb Trail to the top since you no longer need to ride down a portion of the gravel road to access Half Nelson. The end of the trail spits you out directly beside the parking lot on Garibaldi Park road.
